Police believe he made a total of 100 fake notes and used them at soft drink and cigarettevending machines, receiving some 20,000 yen inchange.Questioned by police, the boy said he came to know how to make counterfeit notes through an article in a magazine he bought at an Internet auction site.
"I wanted to make money,"officersquoted the boy as saying. He gave the fake notes to his classmates at school, and a mother of one of the friends reported him toofficialsof the school.
