Blackie snails

Blackie and the snails

One day Blackie was walking in the garden and he saw some small black snails.

He didn’t know what they were.

"Are you shells?" he asked.

"No, we aren’t," they answered. "We are snails."

"Can you count? How many of us are there?" the first snail asked.

"Yes, I can, it’s easy!! One, one, one!!" Blackie counted them proudly.

"No. You should say one, two, three. There are three of us. Look at those rocks over there. Can you see them? How many are there?" the second one said.

"One, two, three, four, six." Blackie counted carefully.

The third snail smiled and she said, "Please repeat after me, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten."

And so this is how the third snail taught Blackie his numbers.

Blackie was very happy because now he knew how to count.
