BRING!! BRING!!"

"Hello. This is Blackie."

"Hello Blackie, this is Emily, your snail friend. Are you going to come to our house tomorrow to have elevenses?"

"Oh yes, please!! I'd like to count some more.

I can count from one to ten, so now I need to know about eleven."

"Oh, no!! We aren't going to have a maths class." says Emily.

We are going to have tea and biscuits at around 11 o'clock.

We call it elevenses."

"Oh," says Blackie. "I'll bring some muffins, I can cook muffins. I like cooking."

"oohhhhh...That sounds really nice!!" says Emily.

So, please come to our house at around 11 tomorrow."

"All right, thank you. I'm really looking forward to it," says Blackie as he happily puts the phone down.

The next day, just after eleven o'clock, Blackie is at the snails' house.

He's sitting with the snails in the lounge.
There's a funny shaped piece of wool with two holes in it on the table.

Blackie tries to put it on his head.
"Does it suit me?" he says, looking through the holes.

"Oh, Blackie, no! It's a tea cosy to keep the teapot warm," the snails say together.

"OHHH...Sorry....I thought it was a hat ...It is so lovely....Who made it?" Blackie asks.

Emily replies, "My mother did. She is really good at knitting."

"Ah... this tea is so hot !! That tea cosy is a really good idea," Blackie says to himself.

His tongue is too sensitive to drink a cup of that delicious hot tea, but he feels something warm inside seeing that beautiful hand-made tea cosy.
