what is the value of lit?

Recently, we are unable to know the difference of what we wish to know and what we should know since the technology and the information science have developed too much. It is causing the fact that we can’t realize what we need individually. There are far too many things which attract us and take us away from the things we were to take. Our lives and hobbies are pluralistic yet we can’t have more than 24 hours a day. Nevertheless, we have to have own criterion whenever we face to problems. We can’t recognize or command ourselves without the criterion therefore at least we should know the difference of ourselves and others.

Literature is a mutual fortune for human being, I think. It is not a material thing but for our spirit and our thoughts, it is a fortune which helps us to realize what a human is. Since every author has different experiences and thoughts that they wish people to know, we can touch their experiences and know a different perception about things. Especially if we read world literature, we can gain lots of things to our lives since the people in other country have different culture, different society problems, different status and different perceptions. Therefore we can reflect our lives and thoughts with them and know the similarity and differences.

More over, we could know what human being is by reading literature with our sensibility and own thoughts through the author’s general thoughts, history, joy and suffering of lives. Learning literature is a way to bring us to human being by its climate and region. Through our sensibility, an aesthetic sense and the works which sympathize our thoughts, we realize what is needed for our lives and find out what will support our lives. The author will be gone from the rest of the world. However, with the author’s spirit, their works would stay here and provide the joy, hope, and lights to us and help us to realize that they exerted to live just as like what we are trying to do. This is why I always be encouraged and gain power to live after I touched with literature. It gives me bravery to over come all the problems I face to. It is definitely essential for my life and I strongly it is the same for every people.

Lastly, we can reunite with the memory and have new encounter by learning literature. I think the thing which existing while the time passes shows the real meaning of existence of art in this world. Literature is one of the arts, the ever lasting shape of our lives.
