..." If yu build it， he will come."...(それを作れば、彼がくる）

畑で聞いた声に惹かれて、野球場を作ることを決意するレイ。

-Are you actually thinnkinng of doing it?
・・・
-I’m thirty-six years old. I have a wife and a child.
...I’m scared to death of coming into my father.
-なぜ、お父さんのことが関係あるの？
-At the time he was as old as I am now， he was ancient.
He must have a dream himself but he never did anything.
He might have listened to the voice， but he never listened to it.
He never did one spontaneuous thing all the years I know.
...
And I’m afraid that is happening to me.
This may be the last chance to do something about it.
...Build the field.
...I bet you think I’m crazy.
...
-Yes. But if you really feel you should do this， you should do it.

トウモロコシ畑で聞いた｢それを作れば、彼が来る。」の言葉・・・
それに従って、野球場を作ろうと決意するレイ。
そして、それを応援する妻。
レイは、自分の父に思いをはせる。
自分の夢もあったに違いないのに、
寄る年波に身を任せて、夢を捨てた父。
今、野球場を作らなかったら、父と同じになってしまう。
これが最後のチャンスかもしれない・・・。

抱える莫大なローンのことも省みず、
トウモロコシ畑をなぎ倒していくレイ。

それは、裸足のジョーの夢、
作家のテレンス・マンの夢、
Ｄｒ　アーチー・グラハムの夢
レイの父、ジョンの夢、
そして、レイの夢
・・・父に会いたい、会って謝りたい、妻や娘に会って欲しい・・
をかなえる夢の野球場だった・・。

夢のような夢の話だったけど、
心温まるすばらしい映画でした。
