私は２つの家庭婦人バレーチームに所属しています―クラブチームと、
７歳の次女が通う小学校のＰＴＡチーム（通称"小Ｐ")です。
I belong to two "married women's" volleyball clubs, one a regular
club and the other a club that consists of an elementary school
PTA mothers', a school to which my seven-year-old second
daughter goes.
昨日午後、小Ｐの練習に間に合うように体育館に行ったら、用務員さんが
「今日は塗装工事をしているので体育館は一日中使えません。」
私も、他のメンバーも誰もこのことを聞いていませんでした。
But the school janitor told me the gym was not available for the whole day due to the painting work,
which I, as well as other team members, hadn't been informed.
練習は中止になり、すごく欲求不満になってしまいました。
The practice was suspended, which made me greatly frustrated.
小Ｐの次の練習は来週木曜の夜にありますが、同じ時間帯に（別の体育館で）やっている
所属クラブチームの練習のほうに出る予定です。
The next practice is scheduled on next Thursday night but I opt to join the other club's practice on the same time slot.
小Ｐは２月12日に地域の小Ｐ５校の大会(ブロック大会）に出ることになっています。
練習に力を入れたいのですが、年が明けてからまともに人数がそろっての練習機会が
持てずにいます。
昨日がそのチャンスだったのですがそれをつぶしてしまいました。
We want to intensify the practice but have failed to get opportunity for the whole team members to meet since the turn of the year. Yesterday's was the chance but we missed it.
