In the early Rattananakosi era,the Dusit Maha Prasat palace was an audience halll,where affaire of thr state were conducted and royal ceremonies performed.
The palace was built by King Rama 1 in 1806 A.D. The structure is a cruciform building wityh large high roofs. The Dusit Maha Prasat in The Grand Palace is now the only remaining example of the traditional Thai palace left in Thailand. The gilded lacqure work between the windows chronicle the yearly succession of state ceremonies which recorded by King Rama 5. More preciselemthe murals above the windows depict events of a bovernmental,religious,military and diplomatic nature and the traditional Thai way of life.
