’Newcomer Emmanuel Carella is going to be a pop/rock force to be reckoned with.’ The Music Network
Hailing from Melbourne and ready to take on the world is 20-year-old Emmanuel Carella
Like most of us Emmanuel recalls many weekend mornings when he’d be mimicking his favourite artist on Video Hits, dancing and singing his heart out. But unlike most of us, he was really good at it, and he is pursuing his dream to perform! Emmanuel has a Diploma in Performing Arts, which he earned at Richmond’s Dance Factory where he polished his choreography skills.
At 17, Emmanuel was the youngest member of the Nine Network’s ’Starstruck’ dance team which would turn out to be his first lucky break.
Emmanuel was then introduced to a number of industry insiders, including respected vocal coach/songwriter and singer, Susie Ahern. Susie personally took Emmanuel under her wing with vocal training and encouraged him to pursue his guitar lessons. Susie then introduced Emmanuel to Molly Meldrum (who’s renowned for picking a winner) and Molly swiftly signed him to the Luxor Label (the new record label he shares with Michael Gudinski).
In turn it was then Molly’s friendship with Ralph Carr that resulted in Emmanuel writing and recording with highly respected U.S writer and producer, Pam Reswick.
Emmanuel has been writing with Pam and also the legendary Russell Morris as well as Phil Buckle and Susie Ahern. The mutual and professional respect these artists have afforded Emmanuel is astonishing, yet all agree that musically and lyrically he has a maturing talent that belies his age and also possesses an amazing enthusiasm and energy for his craft.
2003 is a very exciting time for Emmanuel as he is prepares to launch his recording career. His debut single - ’Beautiful’ is the first taste of what’s in store!
The song is insanely catchy, soulful pop blended with gritty guitar rock. This guy’s got grunt and soul - who could ask for more?
The commercial release of the single will also include ’No Sky Is Blue’, a song also co-written by Emmanuel and included on the recent gold-selling Home And Away Album and the accompanying video clip has already been featured on Network TEN’s Video Hits.
But the hard work has only just begun and rather than put his feet up over the festive period Emmanuel has just completed vocals on a third track, this time penned by Russell Morris (titled ÒI Want You) which is being produced by Keith Ridgeway and Pete Dacey (Taxiride, The Androids), and then headed back to LA to once again work with Pam Reswick and a number of gifted writers and musicians. The next few months will see Emmanuel dedicated to recording his debut album.
