Removing Viruses Thread
This is a forum where users can help each other remove malware from their computer. A user can describe what symptoms their computer has, and other people can help them get rid of it.
What is malware?
Malware is an application, or sometimes, a browser extension, that does harmful things to your computer. Whether it be covering your computer in ads and pop-ups, encrypting all your files, or redirecting you to a website, that's malware. I've seen various posts in Bugs and Glitches about ads, those aren't bugs with Scratch, that's adware.
How do I remove it?
Once you post your description of the malware, other users can help you find out how to remove it. Make sure to press the “Follow Discussion” button, so that you don't miss your replies.
How do I make my post?
You will make a post in an order similar to the one below. First, you will start off with your system info, which will help us remove the virus according to the platform you are one. You do this by pressing the icon that looks like Earth in the post toolbar. Then, you will describe the symptoms of the malware. Next, you will describe additional related information, such as when the symptoms first appeared, and if you have any apps or extensions that seem unfamiliar.
I got a REALLY bad virus, and the symptoms aren't appropriate for scratch, what do I do?
I'm very sorry this happened, just vaguely describe the symptoms. For example, I have a virus that turns everyone's icons into dancing bananas, which for some reason in this example, are inappropriate. I'll say that everyone's icons are turned into an inappropriate gif.
Hopefully, this will help users get their computers back to normal. Remember, stay safe online!

My browser / operating system: Ipad IOS 10.1 Safari 10.12.56, No Flash version detected. I was scrolling through Scratch, and all of a sudden, the entire website was covered in ads. There were ads everywhere, saying things like “Click here for a free iphone” and “Free money giveaway.” I don't remember Scratch having ads. It occurred shortly after I had went to a website to download free Minecraft, it was called dontgoherethisisnotfreeminecraftstayonthisforumdontgohere.com
It seems that instead of downloading Minecraft, you downloaded a virus. I've helped several people who have gone to that exact same website. Delete the free Minecraft app, and you will be good. Remember, never fall for websites that give out stuff that normally costs money for free, the cost will almost always be a virus. The risk outways the reward.-snip-

I believe they are, I've seen several people do it before. Just make sure that they're trustworthy, no rogues.
