I think AI shouldn't be on scratch. this was one of the only places that ai wasn't on but now it is slowly taking over. scratch is a place for people! not ai! we are supposed to make games by ourselves learn how to code! we want to play games that other people made not games that ai made! if you notice something i mist tell me in the comments!

Whichever side you're on, just give good reasoning and make points for your wants. This is a discussion forum, not a protest.

I completely agree to what everyone said. Some people would say: “Yeah, but, it'll have it's limits. And it can't do more than this and more than that.” You might say that. But letting AI into our platform is like letting a wild animal into a house and saying: “Yeah, it won't wreck anything.” Scratch is meant to be a platform for kids . If you don't understand your code, it might be helpful to have AI, yes, but AI has got the ability to partly think like a human and talk like it has emotions. And that's dangerous. And besides, if you have problems with code or anything else, ask a friend, ask a parent, ask another scratcher! There are plenty of options that are healthier than using AI that work just as well, maybe even better ! This site should be just for kids, and if we let AI into this, somebody could hack into the system and manipulate us. Of course, there is manipulation on scratch, not even the Scratch team or anything can prevent that. And besides, kids could rely too much on AI and not really focus on coding anymore. I think this site would be happier, better and friendlier without AI, and I know I'm not the only person to say so. And to the scratch team: Before you make changes, could you please ask everyone else first? That would mean a lot.
Please, to everyone, think about this. I fall on my knees and beg you. Do we REALLY want AI here? Is it good for us? Is it SAFE ?

This Site belongs to us , not AI. If AI is here to ‘help’ us, how can it when its boundaries reach children ? Would it truly be safe ?

I think a large language model near children will have negative effects. Even if you train it not to glitch out or say anything inappropriate, it will still be imperfect. You can try to fix this issue by making and training your own AI, but that is a bad financial decision as your community is against it, it will cost a lot, and it is also bad for the environment. An AI that could search through other people’s projects to find assets to use for your own project is fine as people can already do this themselves, especially since the AI could also be used to ensure you credit them.

Outside Scratch AI is mostly everywhere. I am not aginst for AI usage in other places, but I don't think that we need AI here.
Scratch is a children coding website. Here we learn how to code, we make friends and join cool studios
Scratch doesn't need AI! We can learn to code without it! Just ask other Scratchers, and they will support you and help you if you don't understand something

There are plenty of options that are healthier than using AI that work just as well, maybe even better ! A few members of the Scratch Team approve of using AI in some aspects of Scratch, but most of the community, especially the users, are against it. Some individuals have even started movements where people stop using Scratch on February 1st in an attempt to get the platform to reconsider its use of AI. There are also petitions, studios, and projects that discourage AI usage on Scratch, but none have gained significant traction. In my opinion, as long as we can address the environmental issues associated with AI, ensure it doesn't negatively impact cognitive engagement, and continue learning, AI usage could be acceptable on Scratch. But for now, let's keep the website free of AI.

Dawg, we should not use scratch during summer. Just, get thousands of us to boycott it for summer. It doesn't have to be long, it only has to be like, three days, but if MOST OF US BOYCOTT SCRATCH, THEY WILL PANIC!
