Well, I know that a lot of people left, and I also now a lot of people joined. Now, I don’t know the facts, but I would say it’s safe to assume that it stayed about the same.

Many Scratchers said they would leaving, but probably by far not all of them did. Some inactive Scratchers might also come back for a while compensating it a bit. Overall I'd say it's some people less than before, but not too many.

Look at the “Statistics” page on the bottom of the website. As far as I can tell, we are still following an upward trend in terms of active Scratchers.

Considering tablet support is now available, I assume that it's going up. Yes, some users may have left, but I assume that the amount of new people is more than the amount of people who left.

It had basically no overall effect. https://scratch.mit.edu/statistics/ There aren't any obvious anomalies, everything seems pretty consistent with previous years. You could only really claim minor changes. There may have been people who say they will/do quit because of 3.0. It's still only a very small part of the user base. No matter how vocal or popular they may be. Scratch gets plenty of new Scratchers and have plenty of people who wouldn't care enough to actually quit. Some people could also be giving 3.0 more of a chance to fix things or adapt. There is also the fact that one of Scratches primary uses, schools, mostly benefit hugely from 3.0.

Personally, what I think happened since 3.0 released, the number has gone down. Down a LOT .

Note that the community of people who said they were leaving Scratch is actually a very small community, despite it being very vocal. Scratch does and will still receive an influx of new users who made Scratch accounts because they have to for their computer science course (a lot of schools all across the world use Scratch). The American summer holidays have a far bigger effect on the website's traffic than any Scratcher made protest, which you can see on the statistics page .

Probably down, a lot. All the famous scratchers are leaving, which leads to more people leaving now that their favorite scratchers are gone, then their fans leave, etc. etc. as so the cycle continues.

It's pretty much impossible to tell just from a 3.0 update alone, but Id say it might have gone up.
