5 Things to Know about Scratch 2.0
Edit: Check out the project version of this post! :) http://beta.scratch.mit.edu/projects/10087407/
1. Your stuff is coming with you!
Your comments, projects, and galleries, will be copied from the old Scratch site to the new site once we switch over to Scratch 2.0.
2. Create projects in the browser
To make a new project on Scratch 2.0, just click “Create” - there’s no need to download or install anything.* To see a project’s scripts or to remix, click “See inside” on the project page.
3. Share your projects so others can see them!
New projects will be automatically saved in your My Stuff (). Only you can see them until you click “Share.”
4. My Stuff and Profile pages
Everyone can see your Profile page, but only you can see your My Stuff page. You can find all your shared and unshared projects in My Stuff.
5. Scratch will keep changing and growing, even after the launch of 2.0!
We’ll be adding new features and fixing glitches often. Check out this list of new features .
Want to know more?
Check out this forum post: info about the transition to 2.0. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, post a question on the thread!
*We’ll be releasing a downloadable Scratch 2.0 editor later this year.

We are keeping projects made on the beta! They'll show up in your profile, along with all projects you shared on the old site.
However, comments and studios made during the beta period will be lost when we release, I'm afraid.
We'd love to keep them! But it is very hairy and super difficult to do, and would take a lot of time and energy we feel would be better spent making 2.0 better.

We *really* need the help of experienced beta testers in getting the word out, so that Scratchers who haven't seen the beta know these things.

I knew this stuff, but then again, I've been around. But I guess you guys needed more to populate the Anouncements section, and some people are still asking.

To make a new project on Scratch 2.0, just click “Create” - there’s no need to download or install anything.*What about us Linux users? Google Chrome does have the latest Flash built in, but Adobe stopped supporting Linux.

Does that mean 2.0 will be released soon? There are still many problems with the site that should be fixed beforehand(not only the ones I've reported)

If a downloadable version of Scratch 2.0 will be available, will it be made in Squeak or in Flash?

It'll work - we're only requiring an older version of Flash that's still supported on Linux.

It will be released pretty soon - problems and all! But we hope to have the major kinks worked out (like the front page) before then.
Remember, we'll keep working on it after the release.

Yay! Will cloud lists be out by the official release of 2.0, or will it be sooner than that, or later?

You know that thing about all ratings will be erased from the beta? Does that include projects only on the beta?
