It's official.We are now technically homeless.We just signed all the closing papers for selling our home.We are staying with our daughter right now, plus going to do some RV traveling.Our new home is slated to be complete by June.Another phase of our lives has begun.

Remember when we would horseback ride at Tyrrell Park in our teen years?Well, now John and I are retired and we own three horses, five cows, six roosters and fourteen hens.We still live in Bridge City and the animals are in a barn and pasture only five minutes from our home.Our horses are names Tonto, Ashley and Honey.

Ashley is my horse.She is a joy to ride.She is a retired barrel racer.She still loves to “run” barrels.But, best of all, she is a true sweetheart and loves to be brushed and fussed over. John rides Honey and our youngest daughter rides Tonto.

NEWS FROM THE HOMEFRONT

I'm doing the happy dance here!As of April 1 ^st , major league baseball (MLB) has begun!I've already ordered my tickets for the Boston Red Sox vs Houston Astros 3-game series in August plus made reservations to stay across the street from Minute Maid Park at the Inn at the Ballpark .It is a Christmas gift from my dad.It takes place two days after the reunion weekend .I figured I could use a welcomed break after the stress of heading up our big gathering!

Murphy and I went camping at Dam B for the long Easter weekend.It was my first time to go RV'ing.I have stayed in a tent years ago but this was my first time to have a travel trailer of our own.It was a lot of fun.Dam B is less than an hour down the road from our house in Lumberton but it feels like it is a long way off.I packed some snacks to eat on the way and before I had time to eat them we were there!I told Murphy to make a u-turn and go back.I didn't want my snacks to go to waste!My daughter and family brought their trailer and her in-laws came in their trailer.It was so much fun watching the four youngsters use their imaginations all weekend.No electronics were allowed.

We went kayaking, cycling, hiking, played freeze tag, built forts, fished, read, cooked, played soccer, played board games, etc.Of course, we made smores by the fire.I am looking forward to our next camping adventure in Huntsville .

(Okay, I have to admit I cheated on the NO ELECTRONICS clause!I snuck into the trailer and watched the Boston Red Sox play on my IPAD.;)

It looks like Murphy is going to have to fork out some big bucks on a newer bike for me for the trails.My Wal Mart brand is not going to cut it.I'll need the fancier kind with gears to keep up with the gang.Oh well, I'm worth it!

Charlie 's 12 ^th surgery is tomorrow.The usual debridement and grafting. Charlie has been pretty alert these days and is communicating.Because of the tracheotomy he doesn't produce sounds, but I understand that everyone is getting pretty good at reading lips.When asked, he says he isn't in pain and often says he wants to go home.Amazing progress all in all.

Today, Marc h 28, 2013, our classmate and my cousin, Carrie (Stout) Robert

had a procedure where they put in a trachea.She is in the hospital due to suffering a stroke.Her husband, Shannon, said that she is connected to the ventilator according to procedures for 72 hours and then they will start to lower the amount and start to bring her off of the vent.Please continue to keep the entire family in your prayers.

I would like to say one more thing and I pray you all understand what I am trying to say.It has been quite awhile since Carrie and I had talked, sometimes our lives take different directions and you just do not pick up the phone and make that call.Carrie and I were extremely close when we were kids so because of what she is going through it has made me realize that we should never let time go by without talking to each other and even getting together.I cannot get back the time that we have not kept in touch but I can change that from this time forward.We are all getting older and I want to make everyday count, I do not want to have any regrets.

So love each other and do not let a day go by without letting those you love know how you feel. The last few days have been very emotional for me and I apologized to Carrie for not keeping in touch. If God had called her home I would have been left with that on my heart.

Speak only kind words to all those you love because you may not have the opportunity to say I am sorry.

Ernie underwent a six hour surgery to alleviate the facial pain that she was experiencing due to a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia.Her surgery was preformed in Houston .She is recovering at home in Lumberton and is doing awesome!

This SE TEXAS weather is so fickle!One thing my dad has really enjoyed though, is watching the birds feed in the back yard.He sits on the glider in the covered patio and listens to classic country music on the radio.
