AB - Access to justice for persons with disabilities faces multiple challenges in legal, architectural, cultural, economic, procedural, and communication domains. These challenges limit their ability to seek effective protection of their legitimate rights and interests, creating vulnerability in this unique group. Considering these circumstances, this article focuses on a thorough analysis of the communicative barriers that hinder the access to justice for people with disabilities. These specific limitations will be addressed, and potential solutions will be explored, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of reasonable accommodations. Therefore, the importance of using clear and inclusive language, the availability of documents in braille, the presence of sign language interpreters, and the role of the judicial facilitator will be highlighted. Furthermore, it is intended that these accommodations, inspired by instruments of direct applicability, find their implementation in Cuban courts, and that, as proclaimed in Article 40 in conjunction with Article 89 of the Cuban Constitution, equality in access to justice for people with disabilities is ensured.
