The Afterburner Lodge is a cozy, warm, custom log home with some of the best views in Colorado. A large wrap-around deck provides plenty of room for family BBQing or enjoying the large outdoor hot tub. This five bedroom, three bath home is located just down the street from the Dakota Lodge and enjoys the same private, family neighborhood on half acre sites. The Afterburner Lodge has real log furniture and spacious cathedral ceilings with huge log beams. Lots of trees surround the home with hiking and cross-country skiing right out the back door into the national forest.
While the ski resorts of Breckenridge, Keystone,
Arapahoe Basin, and Copper mountain are all five to fifteen minutes away, the best time of year is summer. Enjoy Lake Dillon, only one mile away. Shop at the Silverthorne factory outlet stores, or golf at one of eight mountain golf courses within thirty-five minutes. There is white water rafting at the bottom of the hill, and one of Colorado's best gold medal trout streams within three minutes driving time. There is horseback riding, jeeping tours, music festivals, and water slides in this mountain resort community. Seven of Colorado's famous "fourteeners" (peaks over 14,000') lie within fifteen minutes of Summit County. The geography that encircles our lodge provides a stunning backdrop to the gold and silver discoveries that left a patchwork of historic mines and ghost towns. Come visit our flower-filled meadows and breathe the fresh mountain air. We invite you to spend your winter or summers vacation at our Afterburner, Dakota , or Sebring Lodges.
