Classic Pages on Facebook are updating to the new Pages experience
. You’ll still have access to many of the same features to manage your professional presence, build your brand or business, grow your audience and connect with followers. Your content, insights, ads, Likes and followers will automatically transfer when your Page updates.
If your goal is to represent your business, brand or product on Facebook, create a Page
. A Page lets you engage with people on Facebook and offers tools to help you manage and track engagement.
If your goal is to share updates with a broader audience from your profile, the place where you’re connected with friends and family, you can turn on professional mode
. When you turn on professional mode, anyone on Facebook can follow you to see your public updates in their Feed, even if you're not friends on Facebook. You can choose to post content to a public audience or to your friends only.
Whether you use your profile with professional mode or a Page, you can have an unlimited number of people following you, and you can follow up to 5,000 people. You can have up to 5,000 friends on your profile even in professional mode.

Profile Transparency section on Professional Mode
![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v3/yU/r/SrhEW71pAmO.png)
Professional mode
is a state of your main profile that offers access to professional tools like monetization and content insights.
In an effort to increase accountability and transparency, Facebook is showing more information about profiles and profile owners in the Profile Transparency section on professional mode profiles.
Where can I find the Profile Transparency section on a profile?
To access this information as a profile visitor:
1.
Go to a profile by tapping its name in your Feed or searching for it.
2.
Tap on Profile
in Details
section.
This information is also visible when viewing a profile in the Ad Library.
What information is shown in the Profile Transparency section?
The information in the Profile Transparency section comes from Facebook and includes:
![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v3/yO/r/mDTpWxQkHlU.png)
The date the profile was created.
![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v3/yO/r/mDTpWxQkHlU.png)
The primary country locations of the profile owner.
![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v3/yO/r/mDTpWxQkHlU.png)
Whether the profile is running ads.
What is primary country location?
Meta determines the primary country location of a profile owner by a person’s information and activity across Meta technologies. This includes the stated location on their Facebook profile, and device and connection information.
Sometimes Facebook can't share the exact country location of a profile owner because the account may be too new, or we haven't determined their location yet.
However, we will not show a primary country location for any disabled accounts or for system users. You can learn more about System Users
in the Business Help Center.
Note: If your location is inaccurate, turning on Location Services
may help Facebook determine your location. Facebook uses Location Services to help you check in, find local events and get better ads.
What if I don't want this information on my profile?
The Profile Transparency section itself cannot be removed or hidden. You can remove or request to remove some information.
You can submit a request
for Facebook to hide your primary country location because of special circumstances including risks to personal safety. If your primary country location is hidden, people visiting your profile will see Location hidden by profile owner below Profile Info.
