You can control who can see your profile posts. If you tag someone in a post, you create a link to their profile. The post you tag the person in may also be added to that person’s profile. Learn more about tagging .

Add your update. You can also:

Add a photo or video .

Add a location.

Tag friends .

Select an audience for your post.

To share how you're feeling or what you're doing in a status update:

1.

Tap What's on your mind? on your Feed or timeline.

2.

Tap

Feeling / Activity .

3.

Tap Feeling... or select what you're doing (example: Traveling to... ) from the dropdown menu.

4.

Choose how you're feeling or describe what you're doing (example: where you're traveling to) from the dropdown menu or start writing a word to find the feeling or activity description you want. If it isn't listed, you can fill in your own and tap it when it appears in the dropdown menu.

5.

To edit how you’re feeling or what you’re doing, scroll down and tap

Feeling / Activity . You can select a different feeling or activity or scroll up and tap X in the top right to remove it from your update.

6.

Once you’ve added your feeling or activity, fill in your status update.

7.

Tap Post in the top right.

Note: You can only add one feeling or activity to a status update.

If you choose an activity like watching a TV show or reading a book, the TV show or book will also appear in the related sections on your About page.

You can make changes to something you've shared on Facebook by editing your post.

Edit a post you've shared on Facebook

1.

Go to your post.

2.

In the top right of the post, tap

.

3.

Tap

Edit Post .

4.

Make your changes.

5.

Tap Save .

Note: You can only edit the text of your post while using m.facebook.com. To add or remove photos and other items within the post, use the Facebook app for Android and iPhone. You can also visit Facebook on a computer.

Remove a post from your timeline

1.

Tap

in the top right of Facebook, then tap your name.

2.

Scroll to the post you'd like to remove.

3.

Tap

in the top right.

4.

Select Delete Post .

If you don't want something you're tagged in to appear on your timeline, you'll need to remove the tag .

When you remove a tag, the post will no longer appear on your timeline. However, that post is still visible to the audience it's shared with in other places on Facebook, such as Feed and search.

How do I add my location to an existing Facebook post?

How do I add my location to an existing Facebook post?

This feature is not currently available on a mobile browser.

To add your location to an existing post, access Facebook on a computer and follow these steps:

1.

Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.

2.

Scroll down to the post and click

in the top right of the post.

3.

Click Edit post .

4.

Click

Check in . You may need to click

in the bottom right first.

5.

Click Where are you? to search for a location, or select a location from the list below.

6.

Click Save .

Turn on Timeline Review to see posts you're tagged in

Turn on Timeline Review to see posts you're tagged in

When a friend tags you in a post on Facebook, it automatically appears on your profile. If you want to review all posts (including friends' posts) before they appear on your profile, you need to turn on Timeline Review.

Keep in mind, if someone you're not friends with tags you in a post, you'll be prompted to review it to appear on your profile, even if you don't have Timeline Review turned on.

Turn on Timeline Review or review your Timeline Review settings

1.

Tap

in the top right of Facebook.

2.

Scroll down and tap Settings .

3.

Scroll down to Privacy and tap Profile and Tagging .

4.

Tap Review posts you're tagged in before the post appears on your profile?

5.

Tap On or Off to turn Timeline Review on or off.

Note: Timeline Review only controls what's allowed on your profile. Posts you're tagged in may still appear in Search, Feed and other places on Facebook.

Timeline Review for legacy contacts

You can also choose to add a legacy contact to your account, who looks after your account if it's memorialized . Your legacy contact will be able to turn off Timeline Review so tagged posts can appear in the Tributes section. Learn more about what legacy contacts can do .

If you turn on Timeline Review , you need to review and approve all the posts you're tagged in before they appear in your profile.

Keep in mind, if someone you're not friends with tags you in a post, you'll be prompted to review it before it appears in your profile, even if you haven't turned on Timeline Review.

Get to your Timeline Review

1.

Tap

in the top right of Facebook, then tap your name.

2.

Tap

below your profile picture, then tap Review Posts and Tags .

3.

Tap Add to Profile on an individual post to approve it, or tap

to ignore it.

Only you and your friends can post on your profile.

Prevent your friends from posting on your profile:

1.

Tap

in the top right of Facebook.

2.

Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy .

3.

Tap Settings .

4.

Scroll down to Audience and Visibility and tap Profile and Tagging .

5.

Tap Who can post on your profile?

6.

Select Only Me .

Keep in mind, your friends will still be able to comment on any post they can see (example: a photo you share on your timeline that includes them in the audience).

A few other ways to manage your profile

Update who can see your posts in your settings.

Use the audience selector to choose who can see each of your posts.

Review posts before they appear on your timeline with Timeline Review .

Choose to block someone's profile , which keeps that profile from doing things like seeing or commenting on your posts.

View your Profile and Tagging settings.

Post something on a friend's timeline

1.

Go to your friend's profile.

2.

Scroll down to Posts , then tap Write on [Name's] timeline.

3.

Enter a message or choose to add something to your post:

Photos : Adds photos to your post.

Video : Adds a video to your post.

Tag friends : Adds a friend to your post. Learn more about tagging .

Add location : Adds a location to your post.

Feeling/activity : Adds a feeling or activity to your post.

4.

Tap POST .

Keep in mind that when you post on a friend's timeline, they choose the audience for your post.
