General Motors announced last week that its military vehicle division, GM Defense, is working with U.S. government to develop the newest version of its tactical truck. This isn't a big surprise, GM created a whole division to meet the military's mobility needs.

However, Ford has decided it wants in on the business of developing 600 new tactical trucks. According to the  Wall Street Journal , the  Blue Oval gang plans to submit  three prototypes for the U.S. Department of War to review.

Ford isn't exactly a newbie when it comes to defense contracts, holding a critical place in the history of World War II building B-2 Bombers at its plant in Ypsilanti as well as creating the original Jeep used for decades.

However, it's a new time and a new era and feelings run strong about each member of the former Big Three. Each automaker has its pluses and minuses so when it comes to creating a vehicle for our country's soldiers, who do you want to see building that vehicle: GM or Ford?
