A Croatian tuner wants to give one of the century’s first great supercars new life.
Tedson Motors has just unveiled a new model called the Etna that is based on Lamborghini Gallardo . The slick restomod attempts to bring the first modern-day “Baby Lambo” up to today’s standards, while still holding onto the original car’s analog charm.

When it was introduced in 2003, the Gallardo became the first Raging Bull since the Jalpa to be released without a V-12. But while its spiritual predecessor may have just been a V-8-powered sports car, the Gallardo was a supercar through and through thanks to its potent naturally aspirated, even-firing V-10. That air-breathing mill wasn’t the vehicle’s only throwback feature, though. The first-generation (or pre-facelift) Gallardo, which the Etna is based on, also came standard with a manual gearbox and hydraulic steering, two components that are increasingly rare in today’s today’s computer-aided supercars.
Tedson has no intention of messing with this trio of features and that’s why it’s positioning the Etna as the “Lamborghini Gallardo remastered.” The V-10 has been refurbished and tuned, boosting its output to 592 hp (which is nearly 100 hp more than before) and its redline to 10,000 rpm. The suspension has also been upgraded with components taken from the Gallardo Super Trofeo and its chassis reinforced with weight-saving carbon fiber. The vehicle’s mechanical hardware has been spruced up, but it is still the same Gallardo Raging Bull enthusiasts have come to know and love.
The car’s distinctive wedge-shaped body has also been given a makeover. The body has been widened by 2.4 inches and lowered, giving the vehicle an even more aggressive stance than before. The front fascia has been refined so that it’s more streamlined, while the rear has been extensively reworked. The roof now smoothly transitions into the rear wing, while the taillights have been replaced by Y-shaped motif similar to that found on today’s Lambos .
Intrigued? Tedson is now taking orders for the Etna through its website. The company’s latest restomod starts at £625,000, or roughly $785,000, according to Top Gear . Just be aware that that fee does not include the donor vehicle.
