Porsche owners are known for being obsessive, and for good reason. When you’re behind the wheel of something like a 911 or Boxster, every parking decision, every stretch of road, even every passing bird starts to feel like a potential threat to your bodywork and paint. Door dings, rock chips, and road grime are an ever-present enemy.
So, naturally, the last thing you’d expect is someone willingly turning their Porsche into a construction site. Yet that’s exactly what happened.
Akhil Yadav, owner of H1 Car Detailing in India, decided to showcase the capability of paint protection film (PPF) in much less conventional way than the usual demos of keys, knives, or pressure washers. After encountering a pothole on the street Yadav pulled over, popped the frunk, and pulled out everything needed to fix it; then, in a move that would make most enthusiasts cringe, he dumped the materials onto the hood of his Guards Red Boxster , added water, and began mixing concrete with a trowel. Yes, right there on the hood. (Or, if you want to be technical, frunk lid, but you know what we mean.)
Once the mix was ready, he used it to patch the pothole, then peeled back the PPF. The result? Shockingly, the paint underneath was, apparently, completely unharmed.
Yadav explained in his Instagram post that the stunt wasn’t just about showing off PPF; it was also meant as a reminder of personal responsibility. "Everybody should take equal responsibility to keep our surroundings clean. Ours is a highly populated country, and the government alone cannot keep everything on track. This video is only to show the strength of Paint Protection Film (PPF), but if every individual takes responsibility, we can also show the strength of our country."
Still, it’s one thing to appreciate the message, and another to replicate the method. PPF clearly proved its worth here, but turning a Porsche into a concrete mixer probably isn’t catching on anytime soon.
