A 24 hour spa in China with a pool (Kara and Nate)

Over the past year, videos of luxury 24 hour spas in China have racked up millions of views on social media. Why? It's because for the price of a single massage in the U.S., spa guests can spend all day rotating between saunas, massages, cinemas, and endless buffets with unlimited champagne and caviar.

The concept is simple. You purchase a day pass and immediately get access to all the spa's amenities for 24 hours. And these aren't your typical spa amenities of soothing music and aromatherapy. 24 hour spas in China pack in next-level perks like unlimited food and drinks, entertainment zones, and nap rooms that turn the spa into an all day event.

Just last month, we visited one of these spas on our quest to see if some of China's most unbelievable places lived up to the hype. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint!

Inside the 24 hour Spa

Most 24 hour spa experiences start the same way. When you purchase your day pass, you'll be given comfy spa attire and a locker to store your things. After changing, you are free to explore as you choose. Certain spa services are an extra charge and will be added to a tab to pay at the end of your stay.

Where in China can you find these spas? Let's check out some of social media's favorites.

Qushui Lanting Spa, Shanghai and Beijing

We personally visited the Shanghai location and paid $175 for a 12 hour pass. As far as 24 hour spas, this is on the more expensive side but we found the price worth the quality of amenities. The locker rooms were stocked with designer beauty products. At the buffet, we found unlimited drinks, ice cream, fish, lobster, wagyu and caviar. An additional menu of hot foods was available. Spread across the building were saunas, hot tubs, video game rooms, pools, and nap rooms. We paid extra for a traditional Chinese cupping massage and a foot massage in a private theater room and it was totally worth it.

Another popular 24 hour spa in Chengdu costs only $42 for an 18 hour pass. Videos online advertise this spa as having unlimited hot pot, an exotic fruit bar, and a chess room. The spa even has a children's playground, claw machines, and video game room for families traveling together! After getting a massage, you can grab free popcorn and drinks to enjoy in the cinema or lounge room.

Cloud Stream, Shenyang

During the frigid winters, residents of Shenyang love to warm up with a trip to the bathhouse. Cloud Stream spa combines traditional bathhouses with the 24 hour spa concept. Before entering the main spa area, you'll undergo a traditional full body fruit, milk, or wine scrub meant to rid your body of all dirt and dry skin. After that, you're free to enjoy the buffet, juice bar, massages, and nap room. A day of buffets, bathhouses, and massages will cost under $60.

At $35 for a day pass, this is the cheapest spa on the list. Like many other 24 hour spas, your journey here will begin in a locker room that has onsens, different types of showers, and all the complimentary toiletries you could think of. The pool area has a variety of baths, all with different temperatures and properties. A small snack bar here serves ice cream, pastries, sausages, coffee, and soft drinks. There's also a fruit bar, tea rooms, saunas, pedicure services, and more.

If you ask us, the 24 hour spas deserve all the hype they get on social media. You'll find them in every major city in China and they make for the perfect add on to any trip there.
