Find and remove unusual activity on your Yahoo account

To review unusual activity on your Yahoo account, sign in to the Yahoo Account security page and check your current sign-ins, external connections, and recent account activity. Unfamiliar locations can sometimes appear if your device detects the wrong location or your internet provider uses a proxy server.

Access your account's recent activity and connected devices and apps

From a desktop or mobile web browser:

  1. Sign in to the Yahoo Account security page .
  2. Go down to account security activity you want to review:
    • Current sign-ins- displays a list of current devices signed in to your account.
    • External connections- shows which third-party apps are signed in to your account.
    • Recent account activity- provides a list of recent changes made to your account including changes such as adding a phone number or removing an email address.

From most Yahoo mobile apps:

  1. Tap the Profile icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Go down and tap Manage account privacy| tap Your privacy controls.
  4. Tap Security.
  5. Review your account's recent security activity and list of connected devices and apps.

Remove a connected device

Devices signed in to your account are listed in the "Current sign-ins" section of your account's Security page. Remove a device's access by signing it out.

  1. Locate and click on the device you want to remove.
  2. Click Sign out.

Remove a connected app

Third-party apps signed in to your account are listed in the "External connections" section of your account's Security page. Remove an app's access by deleting the app password it uses.

  1. Under "External connections," click App passwords.
  2. Locate and click the app you want to remove access to.
  3. Select Delete app password.
