Based in Rockford, Ill., Winnebago County Health Department provides services designed to protect, promote and maintain the health of the Winnebago County residents. The organization offers various services, such as disease control, emergency preparedness, environmental health improvement, health promotion, childhood immunizations, vision/hearing tests and family case management among others. Winnebago County Health Department is associated with the Rockford Health Council, National Center for Health Statistics, American Public Health Association (APHA), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and United States Environmental Protection Service (EPA).
Ken-Rock Community Center began as a Junior League project in the 1930's and was incorporated in 1950. Ken-Rock Community Center, a United Way agency, serves all residents in the Rock River Valley through education, recreation and social service programs. Our mission statement, To enhance the quality of life for children and families in recreation, education and social services in the Rock River Valley replicates the comfortable and community oriented services we provide annually to over 58, 000 citizens.
