Established in 1969, the HARBEL Community Organization has more than 90 members, including schools, churches, hospitals, civic associations, community groups and mental health centers. The organization operates an outpatient substance abuse prevention and treatment center that serves children and adults. It offers assistance with the development of self-esteem, decision making and problem solving skills. The HARBEL Community Organization provides counseling services for individuals, families and groups. In addition, the organization hosts social events, gatherings and outings for low-income individuals. It organizes homebuyer workshops that provide information on homeownership and mortgage financing solutions.
