The craft center is filled with artist studios and it also houses a gallery full of high quality art work from mostly local artists. I took my elderly mother and sister there to see a pottery show and was impressed by the high quality juried work of mostly wood fired pottery. Then afterwards, we attended a community craft class given by a very friendly glass fusion artist who shared with us her skills and stories of her creations. Because I am potter myself, a ceramic student eagerly showed me the facility. Two weeks later, we returned to see the annual holiday craft show with more than 50 very high quality artisans of many medium. The quality and variety were much better than one would expect from many big city shows I have been to. The ceramic works I looked at were way beyond what I would expect from an average holiday show! Then my experience was topped by meeting the ceramic director who gave me a behind the scene tour of the kiln room, glaze labs, and resident artist studios. The building is shared with a local university art department. The overall facility and gallery were truly top of the line! I can imagine how wonderful the classes and community are.

This is a small but beautiful exhibition held in the Krikorian Gallery at the Worcester Center for Crafts. Much of the crafts are handwoven textiles produced by women from Southeast Asia. The colors and patterns are interesting and much different than those produced by European craftpersons. In addition, there are baskets woven by men and women from Southeast Asia and Africa. The designs, colors and shapes are very interesting, including birdhouses as well as baskets of different forms. One of the artisans also wove a bamboo bicycle which was a surprise. There are also sculptures of clay which are very interesting. The show extends to Feb. 29, 2020 and it is free to the public. The time is from 10 am to 5 pm.

I took a great woodworking class and learned how to choose wood and use every tool there to complete a nice glass doored book case.

Have taken many pottery sessions here. Very reasonable priced, and the instructors are awesome.Wish they had more day classes in hand building!!

Since we were just passing by Worcester towards NJ we looked for galleries and studios. Since we only had the one day, we missed a show so we just stopped by the store. What a great place. The variety and quality of work agree with pricing. Some real steals for everyone with hundreds to dollars to spend to people like me who celebrated empty pockets by purchasing a beautifully streamlined wooden honey dispenser for a dear friend. I also considered handmade soap. Works to see, touch, use, wear. Too many materials and processes to describe--better to come in to experience. The pieces were so different in styles and functions one from the other even by the same artist. The craftsmanship was undeniable.
