the floors are creaky so I had to tread lightly to not disturb anyone, haha, but that adds to the historical ~ambience~ for sureI also loved the history that this church has always been progressive and open to everyone ️‍⚧️

This church doesn't get as much attention as the Old North Church, but it should. It's a gorgeous, Gothic-style church that still functions as an active community, but they're very welcoming and allow people to come in and take pictures (just be respectful). This is one of the oldest religious communities in the US - the community predates the physical church. It's located right by Copley Square, but once you step inside, you only absorb the tranquility of the place, not the constant flow of people outside.

This is the second building for the historic church congregation that started at the Old South Meeting Place that was the gathering site before the Boston Tea Party. Like many people and historic institutions, after the Civil War, they moved from the crowded downtown to the new suburban Back Bay. The congregation is the Third Congregational Church in Boston, but the premier one now after the move. Both the First and Second are no longer congregations in the same denomination as they started. Part of that may be the location of this church the most affluent neighborhood in the most prosperous time of the city. Anyways I got great pictures of the church during my morning walk to Copley Square which was across the street and under construction. It is a beautiful church in Boston.

We visited Old South Church in Boston after visiting Boston Library. It was free to enter. The church is beautiful and well maintained.

An unexpected treasure in the heart of Boston. We came in here on our way to somewhere else, not expecting the inside to be quite so beautiful and interesting! They have a two-page history one can download via QR code, which was the perfect length and explained its importance very clearly.
