tripadvisorSaw a show here this past weekend and it was good. The venue was nice as well with some old charm to it. Probably overpaid value-wise in regards to the show/accommodations but had a good time so I am not mad with myself after the fact. Good place to see a show at the right price.
MoreThis is a classical theater. We sat in a box on the left to see a ballet. Too much of an angle as could see into the wings. Be sure to look around...amazing.
MoreThe theater is just the right size, not too big and not to small to see a small musical or performance. It is easy to get around with wide aisles and good size seats. The worst part of our night was the performance. It was a yearly Christmas Sojourn of Irish music and dance and it did not live up to our expectations, but it is always nice to go to the Cutler.
MoreMy mother in law had frequented the Majestic with my lady and her sister since they were old enough to walk. Each year she would see Jose Mateo's Nutcracker around Christmas, and this year she invited my family to come along for the December 3rd showing at 7pm. The dancers were excellent, the theater wonderful and clean. We were very happy until they end.My sister decided to capture the moment by taking selfies with the family and then moving down the isle to take a picture of the stage (which many below us had already done from their seats). While there are signs that warn not to take picture or videos of the performance, it didn't occur to us that the theater itself was off limits as well. One of the ladies kindly told that to is and my sister inquired why that policy was in place, the lady explained she didn't know and we prepared to leave. At this point, a shorter, thin man with a beard I believe was named Andrew decided to speak loudly at my sister and mother in law that its copyright and sneakily you need to go. It caught all of us off guard, as that's exactly what we were doing and save for this aggravating ushers attitude we would have been on or way. As he walks away he decides to stare our group down while the ladies pleasantly smiled through the awkwardness.Needless to say, we will not be returning. I've attended hundreds of plays and off broadway musicals throughout New England, and this was the first time my entire group left angry instead of happy about the performance. At least we have a new catchphrase, if something doesn't make sense it must be copyrighted.
MoreI saw a show here over the summer and liked the venue. They have done a great job with preservation. Convenient location close to restaurants/bard for pre or post show visits and also very close to the T.
