Harvard Book Store Used & Rare Bookstore ·$$

Not to be confused with the Harvard Square Coop, the university bookstore down the block, this independent store sells primarily new books. However, they do offer a small selection of used books downstairs at half price. Bargain-hunters will also enjoy the discounts on remainders, bestsellers, and "Featured Fifty" books of the month. A wide selection of scholarly books and weekly author events keeps culture-hungry Cambridge academics satisfied.

So good book shop, we were really happy that we went in as we found several very interesting books which we wanted to take home but our luggage allowed us to buy one only - about Alexander Hamilton. It's bulky but my husband and I wanted to learn more about this man whose life was inspiration to the musical Hamilton which we saw a few days before. Really recommend visiting this shop.

It's like the good old times. Books must be touched and smelled(haha) before being bought. Lovely atmosphere in the heart of Harvard.

A traditional book store. The bookstore had a large variety of topic areas; a subject for everyone. I could have spent hours perusing the titles.

I frequent this’s bookstore very often and buy books every time I go there. Being in the store and being surrounded by such a comprehensive selection and beautiful display shelves brightens my day every time, and the staff who are there are always the most friendly and helpful people. I really enjoy chatting with them about what I’m purchasing and they’re always helpful to give me further recommendations or direct me to upcoming events they will be hosting. These incredibly kind, hard working people have created something truly special and they deserve a living wage. I stand in solidarity with them and I suggest everyone look into their fight for increased wages.

I was really looking forward to this bookstore's selection considering who is affiliated with but I was unfortunately disappointed.
