tripadvisorWe just saw this musical today and were totally blown away! The two person performance by Sam Tutty (an Olivier Award winner for his role in Dear Evan Hansen in London’s West End) and Christiani Pitts showcases the exceptional talents of each, individually and collectively. The chemistry between the two was electric and total fun to watch as two strangers find that they have more in common than might otherwise be obvious in creative twist that is head and shoulders above the usual rom-com theme. The musical score was excellent as the lead characters’ outstanding vocals flawlessly delivered everything from touchingly emotional ballads to comical banter to uptempo, powerful performances. The pair couldn’t have better timing, body language, facial expressions or dance moves, playing off each other with a comfortable connection that was highly entertaining, convincing and natural. Truly incredible talent! If you are anywhere near the Cambridge area while this show is running, you absolutely must see it. The ART Theatre at Harvard University is a small theater setting at it’s best — not a bad seat to be had, a great sound system, creative staging and effects, in a beautiful, clean, and modern setting.
MoreWe have visited the ART many times and went again to see The Odyssey during our recent trip to Cambridge.First of all, great production. Excellent acting and staging. We thoroughly enjoyed it.We are so lucky to have this amazing facility in New England. For many years they have staged beautiful and important productions that have promoted serious theatre.Thank you, ART, for al the great memories
MoreWOW! On Friday we saw The Odyssey and we were blown away. The actors did an phenomenal job! Most played multiple characters incredibly well. The show was mesmerizing! Our seats could not have been better though I think all must be great. Kudos to cast and crew! Thanks for this great space to see the power of theatre.
MoreBeautiful open stage lending itself to many productions. Not too big so matter where you sit, you have a good view.
MoreWe have seen a few shows here and there at Oberon and we’ve seen some crazy good burlesque shows and some crazy bad pretentious nonsense that has led us to slipping out the door during intermission. My friend did comment that at this theater even if you see something bad, it’s never not interesting. Our table server was ok on our last visit and wasn’t all that enthusiastic or friendly. She looked like she may have had enough. She also kept trying to grab our drink glasses even though we weren’t finished with our drinks (granted it was dark but calm down). Our last experience here was lots of fun but the shows here are definitely an acquired taste.
