Super neat local book and gift store. I could spend hours in this store. They have quirky little gifts, cards, books, etc. Lots of unique things you can't find anywhere else.

The Booksmith is just like it was way back in the 60s when I was a teenager - only better and so much bigger. Lots of Boston and Brookline things to buy

I was searching for a book and saw it in stock on the Booksmith's website - since it's a bit of a drive, I called in advance to make sure it was there and the woman was super helpful. She even went and grabbed it off the shelf and put it behind the customer service counter for me to pick up later (you have 3 days to pick up reserved books which is super convenient).I was blown away when I got to the bookstore later in the day! I expected a smallish independent bookstore and this place was huge and packed with cool stuff. Lots of items like candles, baubles, jewelry, even food items in a kitchen section. I was really impressed with the selection! And, of course, tons and tons of books. Probably the largest selection in a non-box store that I've ever seen.It was very busy and crowded but the design made it so it was easy to get by people and there were so many displays you were able to browse in relative peace. Even the line which was long went very fast. Some of the prices were a bit higher than I'd like to pay but the quality of all of their display items really looked good. I walked away with a random Greek food item and my book and was pretty happy and satisfied. I'll visit again for sure and recommend it to all book lovers!

Wonderful independent bookstore in Coolidge Corner of Brookline. Don't have enormous inventory or variety of books, but do have some interesting and hard-to-find books. The basement is for used books. I found the used book prices to be a bit higher than the average prices that I could find elsewhere, but again, the selections are great and interesting. No place to sit down, but if you want to feel what it was like in an old bookstore and smell the books, then this is one of few independent bookstore still operating in Boston area. This is not a cafe, but simply a bookstore. That's what I liked the most.
