tripadvisorJust got back from a weekend at the Courtyard Marriott in Brookline. Went to visit our son who’s a BU student & lives in Brookline. This hotel is a fabulous location. Close to tons of restaurants, coffee places , cute shops, and the T. The room was pretty comparable to other courtyard marriotts. It wasn’t the cleanest room (I wouldn’t drink from the glasses in the bathroom), but it was a decent room, nice firm mattress, and considering the location, it was pretty quiet at night. They have a bar area that serves Starbucks coffee & light breakfast from 7-10 am, and light dinner & a bar from 5-10 pm. Fritz the bartender was uber friendly & chatted us up both evenings. Overall, I’d rate this hotel a 4 out of 5.
MoreThe manager responds to all of the poor reviews; maybe she should spend more time on maintenance at the hotel. As noted previously, the rooms are very dark. We asked for an extra lamp, and were told that since the hotel was full (because of the Head of the Charles crew race) there were no extra lamps--the only way they could get one was from another room. Uh...they sell them at Target. Then, the bathroom door did not close at all. After we complained a second time, they fixed it, but the closet door stuck. The light in the bathroom was burned out. The electric plugs would hardly hold a charger in place--they needed to be fixed or replaced). And this was for close to $600 a night.
MoreLocated in the Brookline area of Boston called Coolidge's corner, this hotel is near the major universities such as Boston College, Boston University and Northeastern. There were a few things that were not up to par as compared to other Courtyard hotels I have stayed in. The first night, for instance, their computer system was down and we had to get an emergency key to get into our room at 11 pm at night. Staff at the reception desk was very kind about it. By the next day the system was back on and we received our regular keys. The A/C system was old and loud, but worked. The bathroom had no body soap in the shower bottle, which was remedied at once when we asked the floor service maid. Beds were comfortable, one of them had a sag in the middle. Overall, not a bad experience but I have had much better. It is still a good option due to its location and slightly lower prices as compared to all other hotels in Boston.
MoreConveniently located within easy walking distance of great food options and major public transportation, this hotel has quickly become a go-to spot for me—this was my second time staying here, and it certainly won't be the last. The staff is consistently warm and friendly, check-in was a breeze, and having on-site parking is a huge plus in this area. After a busy day of getting around the city, the comfortable bed made it easy to unwind and get a great night's sleep. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable, hassle-free stay.
MoreThis hotel is centrally located so for that I would rate it highly. I had reserved a room with a wheelchair accessible shower. When I arrived I was told they did not have one available.I said that I had reserved one and they were then able to accommodate that. However, if amenities are important to you, this is not the place. They had wooden hangers without hooks AND there was no bar in the closet at all. I had to hang the hangers on door knobs. The shower was great but the lighting in the bathroom was barely adequate.
