tripadvisorAbout the best thing I can say about the Regent Theatre is that it exists and that you can see a show there. I had read that their policy was that the doors opened 45 minutes before the show was to begin, but when we tried to enter the theater 4o minutes before showtime we were rather rudely told that we had to stay in the lobby. Time went on and the lobby became packed and overheated. It was raining as well, and I'm sure the crowd stretched outside and people (customers) were standing in the rain. No one was allowed in, even people who only wanted to use the restrooms. The crowd was made up overwhelmingly of senior citizens, as well, and there was only a small bench, holding at most three people, to sit on in the lobby. Eventually someone from the staff came out with a tale about how the crew was having trouble setting up the stage and that contractually customers were not allowed to be inside. This staff member also remarked that the lobby was hot and starting to smell like a locker room. Finally about 20 minutes before the show was scheduled to begin we were allowed to start filtering in. Once we got inside the theater it was comfortable enough, but we really got the impression that the staff did not much care about the comfort of their customers.
MoreWe went to a matinee here. We saw Ed Asner in God Help Us. A nice old theatre. Staff was kind. We really enjoyed being there.
MoreBought 4 tickets yesterday. Today a discount voucher came in the mail for $10 off per ticket. Called to get a credit. Venue refused.. Very bad business practices.
MoreThe Regent is a fun old theater. There's a nice relaxed vibe here. Some theaters feel stuffy and all corporate. The staff of the Regent just seems to want you to have a good time. The sound is good. The sight lines are excellent. One of my favorite places to see a show. Plenty of cheap parking all around the theater too.
MoreExcellent and outstanding show. Kabler (as Robin Williams) not only looks a little like Williams, but also has the high energy, quick wit, voice and mannerism of Williams. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. Kabler is a very talented comedian, in addition to the Williams show he also is an accomplished impressionist. I highly recommended the show, Kabler nails it
