Disappointing stay – great location, but cleanliness, maintenance and security need massive improvementThe location of this hotel is good, we arrived in the early evening after a long flight\. The staff dealt with checking us in, although I wouldn’t describe them as particularly friendly.We were initially given one of the more modern rooms, which, unfortunately, overlooked a wall. We asked to move and were offered a more dated room. After a long journey, we decided to sleep on it and consider our options the following day, including moving rooms or even hotels. After speaking to other guests they advised us they had asked to move too. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are very comfortable\. Our room had two large beds with a bedside table in between, as well as a microwave, small fridge, coffee machine, TV, telephone and alarm clock\. I appreciate that this type of hotel is often more about location than luxury, and I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, However, basic cleanliness and maintenance should still be a priority. The security need some serious consideration. Room cleanliness and maintenanceRooms are cleaned daily by different members of staff, didn’t find any of them particularly pleasant. The beds are made and towels are usually changed, although some staff sweep and mop the floors while others don’t appear to do much beyond making the beds. Our bathroom was not properly cleaned at any point during our two -week stay. The toilet frequently blocked, and there was nothing available in the room to unblock it. Towels, bath mats and toilet rolls were also often forgotten, meaning we regularly had to ask for replacements. One particularly concerning incident was returning from a long day at the parks to find that our room door had been left open all day. We reported this to reception and were simply told to let them know if anything was missing. I feel the response left me feeling that there was little concern about the situation., I’d almost go to say that they don’t care and are used to these types of complaints. An apology from management would have been nice. We also experienced problems with the safe, which required an engineer, and on another occasion, the door would not open, requiring another call for assistance as we couldn’t get in our room. The general condition of the room was disappointing. The walls appeared to have been painted only as high as someone could reach, the shower curtain was brown and yellow around the bottom, there was rust on the light fittings, and some of the lights didn’t work. The blinds were filthy and broken. The bathroom door had peeled away from the backing. Overall, the room felt neglected and in need of some serious attention. By all accounts our room was one of the better ones. Pool and facilitiesThe pool area is OK, a little dirty at times, although it is also dated. Pool towels are provided free of charge, but they were often unavailable. There are no umbrellas over the sunbeds, only over the tables, which makes finding shade difficult. The pool bar was pleasant, and the prices were similar to those at restaurants in the surrounding area. The staff there seemed friendly. There is an on-site shop selling hot and cold food throughout the day, from breakfast until the evening, as well as ice creams and snacks. There is also a Starbucks on-site in the same area. The laundry room was useful and wasn’t particularly busy during our stay. The washing machines and dryers are payable by card, although you need to swipe your card rather than tap or scan it and there is washing liquid which is payable too. If you have a shuttle bus as part of your package, be prepared to book this a day before in advance, they are few and far between and are very busy. Reception ask that these are booked 3 hours in advance so timings mean you would need to book the day before. The air conditioning works well in the rooms and keeps the room at a comfortable temperature. However, it is very noisy. I believe the hotel rules require it to be switched on between 9 am and 9 pm to ventilate the rooms, as the windows cannot be opened. Would I stay here again?If you are looking for very basic accommodation in a good location and are prepared to overlook issues with cleanliness, maintenance, security and service, this hotel may suit you. In my opinion it’s a very cheap business hotel that would do for one night if nothing else was available. However, for a two week stay, the lack of proper bathroom cleaning, blocked toilet, missing towels and toilet rolls, maintenance and security issues and the incident with our room door being left open were more than disappointing. It’s didn’t ruin our holiday, but it quite easily could have.I understand that these hotels are often chosen for their location rather than their amenities, but there is a difference between basic accommodation and accommodation that feels neglected. With some investment in maintenance, better housekeeping standards and security and a more caring approach to guest concerns, this hotel could be much better. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would struggle to recommend it.

Awful hotel. Very dirty with bags of rubbish around the area, and rarely given any towels or shampoos. On days when towels given, we would get two between 4 people and nothing to stand on when exiting the shower. Also, one morning at 6.55am our room was broken into by two men on a phone. No idea how they got access to the room as room door was locked, luckily we had safety latch on so they couldn’t get it and my husband jumped up and the men ran off. We reported to hotel who said they’d send security but we never heard anything after that. We followed up with staff twice but nothing was ever said about it only they would call us but they never did. It was terrifying as we had two small children with us in the room. Nothing offered by staff for lack of security or explanation as to how someone got a key card to enter our room. They tried to say it was staff at one point but not at that time in the morning, and no reason for staff to be there at that time. Also, we seen the two men, they were not staff. No compensation in the form of so much as a coffee for the experience. Place also riddled in cockroaches. We had to move rooms the first night because cockroaches where living in the phone. Overall, avoid this hotel. It’s a run down motel with serious security issues. Also, our daughter has additional needs and requires a stroller for movement at times, staff leave things blocking pathways so we struggled numerous times to maneuver and had to call my husband to assist us, also met with a wheelchair user who was also very unhappy with pathways being blocked. If I could give this no stars I would. Shuttle buses are timed and awkward to use. Disney- first bus at 9.50am and last bus leaves hotel 11.50am through booking only online. Return buses were 6pm or 10.30pm. Disney bus drivers were not nice people. Very angry & one stopped the bus one evening to give out to all passengers because someone took too long to find their proof of booking. We needed up getting Ubers after this! Bus return from Disney also takes 1hr 20 mins to get from Disney to hotel because of all the stops. Universal buses needed to be booked at a desk, we didn’t use this service once as they were very awkward about bookings. Very disappointed in this hotel and even more disappointed that no explanation for our security breach in their hotel.

After a plethora of severe health issues with this hotel, including damp so bad the beds are wet to touch and it causes severe respiratory issues, no working laundry facilities, absolutely filthy rooms from floor to ceiling with a smell so unpleasant you can’t stay in there, the pools so filthy and has rubbish floating in and isn’t usable. The bathroom door didn’t close nor did the shower drain at all. That’s not even all the issues we faced unfortunately. The management have charged me the “refundable” deposit and resort fee after we were told in the hotel we would have both refunded because the hotel was unusable. Upper management don’t reply to emails, it is a health hazard and they respond to reviews as if they have the intention of resolving anything, in reality they do not care about their guests at all. I have never experienced such a terrifying lack of cleanliness in a hotel.

Great location and friendly staff. Michelle in the cafe was always very friendly. Great pool atmosphere for those non park days.

Stayed here for 2 weeks, it’s basic but it was clean, the beds are comfy and the pool isn’t freezing it’s just right! especially after a long day at the parks it’s a lovely chilled atmosphere to come back to.The hotel is a 10 min drive to the universal parks and a 20 min drive from the disney parks.There is also so many food options near by and so many little gift shops, wallgreens is just around the corner for the essentials. Only small thing is on arrival we were put in the wrong room to what we ordered but as soon as we mentioned this to reception they moved us to the correct room straight away with no fuss :) would stay here again!!
