I have never painted in watercolor before but I am looking for a creative outlet to take time for myself. I always admired her work in the gallery and even own one seascape that sits next to my bed. I look at it every day and think, how did she do that! Her style is very ethereal and silky. So I took her beginner intro workshop which was 5 hours with a break in the middle. Betsy is so great at explaining things clearly! She evens says pretend like you are a 5 year old which takes a lot of the pressure off. She encouraged us to experiment and said watercolor is like baking with out using measurements. We covered the basics, but always walked away with a complete painting. I was surprised how much I liked mine, when you put it under a mat at the end of class. Like, I did that?!It was encouraging. I am hoping to join her mixed-level classes next week.
