tripadvisorWe attended the Teada concert. I had been watching their listings for a while and finally decided to go. What a pleasant surprise! This is a great small venue; because we arrived just before the concert, we were sitting in the second to last row. But that didn't make a difference-the sound was great, and we could see the musicians just fine. The seats were comfortable, the people working were friendly, the restroom facilities were good? We will definitely be going back?
MoreThis is a fantastic small theatre that hosts musical performers from near and far. The performers mix with the audience during their set breaks which is so much fun. The programming reflects the cultures of the people who settled in the Blackstone Valley Corridor. The theatre also sponsors a number of learning activities such as Irish Step Dance, music lessons, etc. The highlight of the year, in my opinion, is the Celtic Solistice Festival in June at the Diamond Hill State Park. It is a full day of entertainment. I have enjoyed it for he past several years.
MoreThe Blackstone River Theatre is a cultural gem, just outside of Providence, located in Cumberland RI. They focus on Celtic arts and music, with frequent concerts by wonderful musicians. The house band Pendragon, has been important fixture in the folk/trad music community of Rhode Island for years. The Gnomes and Atwater-Donnelly are two other outstanding groups closely associated with the BRT. They also provide a range of class in various musical traditions- fiddle, tin whistle, step-dancing, banjo and more! check out their website.
