Pints were a reasonably priced 6.94 ea. and bartender allowed me to try a second stout before we settled on those we bought. Black fly stout too bitter tho

Portland was crazy busy on a Saturday in July. We had a nice meal but the prices are a little on the high side. The server was doing her best but looked overwhelmed with the number of tables she was responsible for.

I visited Gritty's with my daughter and a friend after driving up for the day from Boston. We enjoyed the lobster grilled cheese sandwich, soft pretzels, and onion rings and handmade potato chips as well as a flight of different beers. My husband and I had discovered Gritty's on our honeymoon in 1994 and enjoyed this local spot. It was fun to find it still in operation. The service was good and we had a quiet pub table with a view of the water from the bar area. Definitely recommend!

Local craft beer and the cheese curd and loaded sweet potato fries were very good. Beer was excellent, if you're into craft beer I highly recommend stopping here.

We ran across a local at another place, and he had just come from Gritty's. We went over but didn't have great expectations when just looking at it. Secured a table on the main level and ordered drinks and some food. Drinks were reasonable and the food tasty. Live music was pretty good, too! Very local flair.
