MoreThe rooms and amenities at this hotel are lovely, but the service Elliot provided was top tier! While checking in, I asked to be accommodated due to a private matter. After explaining my situation, Elliot was more than happy to help. He offered extra resources and accommodated me the best he could. I am so grateful that he understood and took my concerns seriously. The bar’s happy hour is also worth it, and the vibes are cute :)
MoreThis hotel is gorgeous. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Room was clean, elegant and had no wasted space. Was a great value and would highly recommend.
MoreMy wife and I stayed here on a Saturday night while we visited a family member who was working at a local theatre. The hotel was located one block away from the theatre and was very convenient. We showed up about two hours early and not able to check in early but they did hold our luggage for us. The hotel is beautiful, charming, clean, and full of historic value. Everything in our room worked to perfection. For an old hotel, our room was very spacious and very quiet. We took advantage of their valet parking for a nominal charge. Attached to the hotel is Bar Max which appeared to be a beautiful spot to have a drink. The hotel is within walking distance to shops, downtown, and restaurants. The price of the hotel was shockingly reasonable compared to some of the other hotels we have stayed in across America. The valet staff was the most friendly of everyone. The front desk staff was not warm and inviting and did not mention anything about the complimentary coffee or tea which was 10 feet from them. However, if we did return to Hartford, we would most likely stay here.
MoreWe wanted a deluxe king but with a window overlooking the street, since reviews on TripAdvisor mentioned that some rooms overlook an internal shaft. I phoned to try to book such a room but was told that I could not book over the phone and had to do it online. The woman told me that I could request an external room in the comments section but there was no guarantee. She also said that if I booked a king studio it would be an external window for sure. I ended up asking for an external room for the deluxe king AND later upgrading to the king studio because the last minute offer was good. We got our keys, went to room 410 (supposedly a king studio) and it was an internal room. I called down to the desk and the fellow looked at my request in the reservation and came up with keys to room 309 instead. It not only had external windows, it was bigger than 410 and much nicer. Great room in fact, in all regards. And all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I'd have been very disappointed if they hadn't been able to switch us to a better room.
