tripadvisorWe once had a good lunch smart at a restaurant in Norwalk business area and returned to our car to find we’d been ticketed. For something that no other jurisdiction in the area tickets for HANDICAP PLATES. My wife called and was told Norwalk doesn’t treat handicapped tags like everywhere else . Shut up and pay the ticket. She did. Didn’t break us. But we don’t forget. That was five years ago. We’re not eaten a single meal or purchased anything since in central Norwalk.
MoreSo hip, so busy, so bustling...that everything is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Half the storefronts are empty and the rest are overly expensive. Drive another hour to Mystic if you want a whole day of activities in CT. Or just stop when you reach Greenwich.
MoreWe fondly remembered our last visit several years ago and were looking forward to all the little shops and boutiques as well as the restaurants and bars along the street. The restaurant scene is still strong, but almost all the shops seem to have disappeared...perhaps to the large mall nearby? Lots of empty storefronts. If we lived in the area, we'd certainly have a wealth of choices for dining here.
MoreWorst place to rent. Everyone lives on top of each other in Norwalk! The noise is out of control! In apartments and on the street, traffic is a nightmare esp downtown. never any parking after 5PM everything is packed. Lots of people are just plain mean, miserable, and it’s extremely classist just like the rest of CT so beware if you make below $40k you’ll only be going backwards in terms of quality of life and happiness. Way overcrowded
Morenot as great as is written about, but good to spend time the varied food options are the main attraction.
