I had an Asbury Park ladies lunch planned with my mother, aunt, cousin and sister. We decided to do this tour directly after our lunch, and it made our day! Emerson was engaging, smart and well informed. He incorporated interesting historic knowledge as well as current regional political and pop culture details. I was concerned that the tour would be too long for us, but we were so engaged that the time flew by. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about these two wonderful beach towns.

I took an adult group (27 people) to Asbury Park & Ocean Grove today. Emerson walked us through the streets and shared lots of great stories about the history of both towns. I had a great boardwalk tour of Asbury Park and Ocean Grove with Emerson last week. Since I was the only one who had signed up that day (it was very hot, so most people were on the beach), I had a private tour which was awesome! Asbury Park is really changing, with lots of new restaurants, hotels, businesses and residences. Emerson has a lot of knowledge about the area's history, music, art, architecture, and popular culture, as they relate to these beach communities. He answered all of my questions (I had a lot!), and he took his time on the tour to show me extra things I had expressed an interest in. I highly recommend this tour company! I plan to come back next year to take the downtown Asbury/Grand Avenue tour.

This week, I took a walking tour through Asbury Park with this company. Not only do you get the depth and inside understanding of the history and culture of Asbury Park, What is a fun experience all around. I am a person who does many walking tours and other types of tours. It has been a while since I wrote a review on trip advisor. I really ought to write more and plan on doing so. Emerson really knows what he’s talking about. Not only did he answer my questions while on the tour, but even when I got home, I received an email from him with answers to questions he was on able to answer at that moment. Now, that’s what I call a fantastic tour guide. I took the boardwalk tour, but plan on taking the downtown tour sometime soon as well.

We took this tour on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Emerson, our guide shared the history of Asbury Park and Ocean Grove with us, including the musical legends who began their careers in Asbury Park. He pointed out important venues such as The Stone Pony, where Springsteen got his start. He spoke of the similar religious roots of the two towns, and how one town remained close to those roots while the other strayed. Asbury Park and Ocean Grove are a study in architectural, social and religious contrasts. We found it fascinating and helpful to tour and learn about them side by side.Emerson customized the tour for my husband and I, allowing me time to take photos, and he kept a good eye on the weather so we could avoid being caught in the rain. He revealed treasures we may not have found on our own, which we revisited later in the week. These included murals, the Carousel House and Ocean Grove.We highly recommend taking this tour early in your visit to Asbury Park. Thank you, Emerson for a wonderful tour!
