If you are looking for some authentic NYC pizza, skip the lines and long waits at Lombardi's and head down Houston a few blocks to Arturo's. Sure you can find artisanal, wood fired pizzas all around the city, but here at Arturo's, the kitchen uses coal ovens which provide a distinct, salty flavor to the crust. Opened in 1957, Arturo's has an old-school, bohemian feel with pictures on every square inch of the walls and cozy lighting. The restaurant also serves classic Italian-American dishes like clams linguini, mussels in wine, antipasti and the bar stocks a nice selection of wine and beer. Another reason why to visit Arturo's is the live jazz performed nightly, something Lombardi's doesn't have.

MoreOrdered delivery. The portions are good and has nice flavor. The eggplant was kind of tough. Delivery is fast a d they send bread. I like that you have the option to get veggies as a side instead...
MoreThis is a second hand review - sort of... I've been a patron of Arturo's since 1991 when my friend lived down the block. It's crowded, it's occasionally stuffy. You may have to wait - but man -...
MoreDelicious food, quick service, casual ambiance. They sometimes play live music and I love it. They are able to do half of a pizza different than the other so that's perfect
MoreThis place is nothing like it used to be. The pizza tastes nothing like it used to. I ordered mussels in red sauce and couldn't eat them. The staff is also very very rude and unaccommodating....
