The place is really good for music, waiters are nice. We go there almost every evening. Sadly the manager, that it looks like a gentle guy with round glasses and blond hair, it is not that kind of person he would appear. We were four at a table with drinks, he told us to leave because we were two and our friends were smoking outside. His goal: to sell this place to four other persons (4 persons are better than two and money are better than music, isn’t it?). But we were 4 instead. When we told him we were 4 and not two, he didn’t believe us. Worst.. he told us that he would have called the security to kick us out (with no discussion, we were shocked). We were obliged to leave the table and give it to the other persons, since he was screaming in a bad way. Our two friends were really disappointed when they come back. Their place was took by other people. We wanted to talk, but we were really sad about his threats. I worked for many years in public relations and hotels and I have never seen that in my life. Even in New York, I’ve never seen this kind of non professional behavior. He just didn’t believe us and we were right. We think that this place can do better for clients. They can keep the kind waiters, of course. Just one thing: please change the manager or pay him a one year internship in hospitality. If this this thing doesn’t work, please let him do another job (maybe he might play music?). That would be a great opportunity for groove, for the waiters and for the guests.

Music is always fantastic! I’d recommend finding the group and seeing it elsewhere, though. Staff was, I think really mean to my pretty passive hubby. We bought tickets to 2 shows, spent almost $300 during the first show, and asked to leave to make room for the second show ticket holders. I showed our tickets for the second show and was directed to the middle of the room. We decided to leave, and when we left the bouncer (who was walking around the room telling people to close out their tabs and leave) was outside with the group waiting for the second set.. he saw my husband and said something because we were leaving. I told him that wasn’t cool, and he told me we weren’t special and had to follow the rules. In front of the entire line to belittle us. My husband didn’t hear him, thankfully, but it was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I’m so disappointed for many reasons… :(

Great feeling medium sized bar in Greenwich village.good vibe and welcoming feel. Good drinks selection and some good live music on the night we went which was a Wednesday.

Wow is one way to describe this place when you are short or limited for words. Im a long time customer of the Groove and I truly must say as far as live entertainment they have it. ive seen the performances of Shirley Murdock and Monifah and others to mention a few. The soul comes from the way the crowd is managed, meaning it does not seem there focused on making money over the customers good experience. the music is raw in the since that you feel it... actually you feel it. THe performers are close to you not creepy close but close smiles makes this a near family feel environment....you don't feel out of place...no pressure...lastly lol come see for yourself.

We stopped off here for a few drinks one night and really enjoyed the atmosphere music and drinks. Good place to chill with excellent service.
