Founded by an enterprising Lithuanian immigrant, The Village Vanguard is one of the oldest jazz clubs, given that its been around since 1935. Today, a sizable international crowd packs the club, enjoying the great music and acoustics, an informal New York camaraderie, and a good selection of beer and cocktails. Musical giants from Leadbelly to John Coltrane to Wynton Marsalis have played here, and fresh talent, including "name-dropping artists" can be heard in this fabled Greenwich Village basement seven days a week.

tripadvisorThis music club is historic and deserves support. You will find various jazz headliners here. The atmosphere is intimate and it is a good place to see a show, so find a performer who appeals to you. In the heart of the West Village.
MoreThis place definitely lives up to the reputation. The space has enough atmosphere, but the focus is truly on the music. And with the bandleader talking about the history of the place, including his own from his teen years, the legacy of this club really was felt. Buy tickets ahead of time, because this club can definitely fill up and sell out.
MoreA must-try experience! You won't be disappointed

MoreI always wanted to go to the Village Vanguard. It didn't disappoint. We went to see the Vanguard Orchestra. Tickets were reasonable + a $15 minimum drink per person. The show lasted about 1.5 hours. Fantastic!! Cannot wait to go again.
