We stayed at the hotel from September 16 to September 21, 2026. On the first night, we were bitten by insects in the bed and requested that the room be treated with insecticide. Instead, they chose to move us to a different room; however, I left a dress behind, and they claimed they couldn't find it. It was only after significant persistence that the dress was returned to me. The room change was, in fact, a downgrade—the new room was smaller, with no space to open all our suitcases. It wasn't until the following day that we were moved to a better room. At checkout, we were informed that our $500 deposit would be used to cover daily charges; since we hadn't made any purchases at the hotel, the remaining balance was supposed to be refunded within 5 business days. To this day—October 16—we have yet to receive our money back.
MoreIf I could give zero stars I would. Hotel is DIRTY. The mattress had stains and what looked like bed bug infestation. I wouldn’t stay here again if it were the only hotel available for a hundred miles. Front desk inspected mattress, apologized and blamed housekeeping. Really???
MoreThe location of the hotel is very good, but unfortunately, that is where the positives end.For this price range, there are far better hotel options in and around Times Square. The basic standards one would reasonably expect from a hotel at this level were simply missing. Not even a complimentary bottle of water was provided in the room.More concerning was the housekeeping. My room was not cleaned for two days, despite specifically calling both Guest Services and Housekeeping and requesting that it be cleaned. On one occasion, I made the request in the afternoon, remained out of the hotel for nearly five hours, and returned to find that the room had still not been attended to. There was no Do Not Disturb sign on the door either. The bathroom was another disappointment. There was no hand shower, even though the photographs displayed while making the reservation through the Marriott app appeared to show the Executive Suite with one. The photographs and presentation of the room were therefore misleading and did not accurately reflect what was actually provided.A good location alone does not justify this price point. When a hotel charges a premium, guests should be able to expect basic amenities, reliable housekeeping, and an accurate representation of the room they are booking. Unfortunately, my experience fell well short of those expectations.
MoreAmazing location, much larger than most rooms in NYC. Front desk (especially Juan) are very friendly and helpful. Very clean hotel, updated and surprisingly quiet rooms despite being in the middle of times square. Overall, a PERFECT stay :)
MoreI stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square with my niece in August and we both had a wonderful stay, the staff was so friendly and helpful, the hotel is very beautiful and the bar has an amazing view on Times Square. I would also take the occasion to speak highly about the service provided by Taddeus at checkin, it was exceptional, he made us feel very special customers and he was courious enough to ask us about our country italy. We will be definitely going back to the Renaissance the next time we will visit NYC, what an amazing stay! Thank you Marriott!
