Despite the theatre being a lovely little venue the prices at the bar are horrendous. We nearly fell over when the bar man casually asked for $65 for a wine and a whiskey. We received these drinks in some poxy little plastic souvenir cups which probably accounted for some of the price, yet we were not asked if wanted these souvenir cups.

Darren Brown: Secret was an amazing show made so even more by the wonderful and intimate Cort Theater.

My wife & I went to see the amazing Derren Brown at Cort Theatre on 13th December - We sat in Balcony (cheap seats) and had a great view. I would return here again given the opportunity I wont spoil anything in the show, but i would encourage fans of Derren & newcomers to attend this show it will blow your mind

Derren was fantastic - barmen we’re not We visited last night and were served by the most outrageously rude bar staff I have ever encountered. We first had an issue with Apple Pay where we spoken to very rudely and spoken to so quickly that we could barely understand what he was saying. Lots of eye rolling, eye balling and shortness which was completely unnecessary. An example:”hello, do you have vodka please?” To which the barman turned around, looked at the vodka and said “yeah” in a rude patronising tone as though we were idiots for not reading all of the bottles before a drink. We were then charged $45 for a wine and rum and coke in two keep cups (which I assume accounted for the outrageous charge - and which I didn’t ask for) and then told to “take care of your servers by leaving a tip” which I of course would not be doing having had rude, rushed and hostile service from both servers! He then spun the screen round and tapped his colleague on the shoulder and eye rolled at us again and let out a huge sigh! Utterly outrageous! Then my friend thought he’d left some cash on the table (an innocent mistake) and looked at the cash and he said “oh no sir those are for the people who TAKE CARE of us!” I would like to let the two barmen know that 1. it is not my moral or legal requirement to “take care” of you by leaving a tip whatsoever 2. I leave a tip when I receive good service which I absolutely did NOT receive 3. Eyeballing, being rude and tapping your colleague to alert him to the fact you had not been tipped IN FRONT of customers is absolutely outrageous 4. Anyone coming to the theatre - be aware you will be ripped off and spoken to terribly unless you’re willing to put your hand in your pocket to two Ill mannered barmen

Do you know where’s really expensive? Like toe curlingly, I know I’m on holiday but still shouldn’t have paid $40 for two single vodka and sodas, expensive? The Cort Theatre surprisingly enough. We sat in the Orchestra (Row J) and had a great view with good leg room on the aisle. We bought TKTS tickets so they were apparently discounted.. (to a price that you would normally pay to see a similar show).Other than that, it was a generic kind of theatre that’s not better or worse than hundreds of others across the US or Europe...Except it’s ballsachingly expensive - because it costs $40 for two drinks.
