Not much for lobby areas. You’re basically on the street, in the bathroom or in the seating areas. There’s not enough room between rows. Think coach on an airplane. There’s not enough slope to the floor and seats are not very staggered, so an average height adult will block your view. In my case, I couldn’t see about 1/3 of the stage. The volume of the audio for a musical was comparable to a rock concert vs. your typical musical.

My 2 kids and another family came here to watch Hadestown (which is an amazing musical). We got front row mezzanine seats- as a short family I hated dodging heads in front of me to see. The mezzanine front row seats were fantastic- sometimes the bar in front was in the way but dodging a bar vs lots of heads is much more do-able.The theater is small. I was surprised upon entering that you’re right in the seating area. There was no lobby, no hanging out prior to the show. Didn’t really bother me but the one women’s bathroom was a problem, There were multiple attendants managing the line at intermission since it was long and wrapped around in a UTurn in an aisle w foot traffic. If this sounds chaotic - it was. Like I said attendants did the best they could but I witnessed a patron get into it with an attendant because of such confusion. I don’t know if people at the back of the line missed some of the second Act - especially since there was really no warning that the show was coming back on. (Theaters I’ve been to usually flash lights.)I wouldn’t mind coming back but I would refrain from drinking any liquids couple hours prior to the show to avoid the bathroom chaos.

We went to see Hadestown as a family and it was the first Broadway show for our children. The show was amazing and we had wonderful seats in the Orchestra section with an incredible view. The staff was awesome - they worked well together to direct the lines inside and outside of the theatre. This is a beautiful historic venue and all the previous reviews about the bathroom situation are true. Highly recommend using the facilities before the show. The staff was amazing directing the lines and making sure everyone got through before the end of intermission. The ushers were all friendly and helpful. I also loved that they delivered concessions to the seats after ordering from your phone (at no extra charge). The merchandise staff were friendly and efficient. Wonderful experience for our family!

This theatre has a great location just off times square. It's small and old, with a bit of old-school charm. However the staff is really annoying and bossy, displaying the New York attitude of yesteryear while ordering people around like school kids. No concept of what a customer is! And there is also no proper bar or lobby - you walk in and there is just a time candy line off to one side. Also, it seemed to have only one bathroom for ladies in the entire building. A tough night out.

I went to the Walter Kerr theatre with my daughter to see Hadestown. Both the theatre and the show were amazing. Great venue and we had seats in the front row. Very close to the show, but still comfortable to watch and really engaging.
