This tiny Upper East Side bookstore has an exceptionally friendly staff that is very much involved with their customers, and was the blueprint for the local bookshop featured in the Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks film "You've Got Mail". Besides offering a plethora of reading material, including an extensive children's collection, this neighborhood meeting spot posts a bulletin board with listings for dog and cat sitters, French lessons and tutors on English composition. Classics, quick reads, best sellers and travel books are available, among other offerings at The Corner Bookstore.

tripadvisorCosy small bookstore with a lot of variety. Staff is very helpful. Great place to loose yourself and buys loads of books. I bought for myself, my mom and my granddaughters. You can also find signed copies and the recommendations of the staff.
MoreNot a big store but great selection of books. Friendly helpful staff and some really cool books. If you like books then you should go here.
MoreI've been to literally dozens of bookstores around the world, and this is one of the best. Not because of the size of the inventory. It's all about the quality of the books, knowledgeable staff, and overall aesthetic. Regardless of where you're staying in New York, this is worth a visit. And it has a phenomenal children's section.
MoreThis store is about the best independent book store that remains in Manhattan . Been a customer fir a long time and they. Try hard to fill the customers need. A very erudite staff who cares about their customers and is very proper. They hold special Days for specialty groups as well.
MoreI stopped by yesterday to visit this tiny and old fashioned book store, partly to visit with the friendly and helpful staff, and partly to buy some books in hopes of keeping them in business. Great selection of current and some odd and off beat books. A treasure for book lovers.
