tripadvisorSocrates Sculpture Park is a unique open space with unusual sculptures and structures in a peaceful and rustic setting, it has nice open views of the East River which are currently blocked by an ongoing renovation. There are plenty of grassy spots for a small informal picnic while enjoying the unique landscape of the park.I've come here so many times over the years that I can confidently say that this park has something for everyone.
MoreI was not overly impressed by the Socrates Sculpture Park. It is free of charge to visit which is appropriate as there was hardly anything to look at. What started as a great idea to build a space for public art on a former landfill site, the sculpture park seems to still be a work in progress, or it is just being neglected. If nothing else, there are some nice views on the Upper East Side of Manhattan across the East River.
MoreIt was the first time back in years, and I attended a lovely outdoor event on their lawn. The event circus amuck was not about a circus but rather a commentary on life at the present time. I will be backQ
MoreOne of my favorite small parks to visit when visiting my daughter who lives in Astoria. It has rotating exhibits. I like that these exhibits can for most part be touched or you can get close. My best description would be very eclectic. It borders on the East river. It’s more of a place to walk to as the Costco next door is always jammed with cars.
MoreI read raving reviews about the sculpture park but actually it was quite average. It only took 30mins max to slowly saunter the field.
