Community Bookstore Bookstore ·$$

Ever since its inception in 1971, Community Bookstore has been an iconic part of Park Slope where you can find books belonging to any genre. Also found here are a cafe and reading area in the backyard, which is surrounded by lush green plants. Other than being a bookstore, Community Bookstore is also home to a rabbit, Pogona, turtle and a cat, which is also regarded as the store's unofficial ambassador. However, the major highlight here are the literary events under which activities such as discussions and readings are undertaken.

Weird vibes in here- no music so it's always super silent. Booksellers never greet you & seem to not want to engage with the customers. It's a shame, it's a beautiful space.

I was greeted and helped with my selections although it was a busy time. I especially recommend their card collection: I think someone makes it a priority.
