tripadvisorDUMBO is one of the most beautiful and photogenic neighborhoods in New York City! The combination of charming cobblestone streets, historic brick buildings, trendy cafés, and spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline makes this place truly special. The highlight is undoubtedly the famous view of the Manhattan Bridge from Washington Street. It is an incredible spot for photography, with the bridge perfectly framed by the surrounding buildings. The waterfront views from Brooklyn Bridge Park are equally amazing, offering breathtaking panoramas of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge.I loved the relaxed atmosphere, stylish shops, and wonderful selection of cafés and restaurants. Walking along the waterfront and enjoying the city views was a memorable experience. The neighborhood has a unique blend of historic charm and modern city life that makes it stand out.I highly recommend visiting DUMBO, especially in the early morning for fewer crowds or around sunset for beautiful lighting and unforgettable views.Overall, a fantastic experience and one of the highlights of New York City. A must-visit for anyone who loves photography, architecture, and beautiful cityscapes!
MoreAmazing place to eat real food,Enjoy the walk around Brooklyn Bridge and do some shopping.
MoreThe DUMBO Flea Market is not huge, which can be kind of great. It's manageable, easy to wander and easy to browse. It's also easy to say, “I don't need anything,” and then find something you suddenly absolutely want to enjoy. Overall, it's a nice place to be, take in the atmosphere, browse a little, and see what catches your eye. You don't have to be there with a shopping mission. The setting is a big part of the experience. The scale of the Manhattan Bridge looming over the flea market affects the overall sense of scale as you walk below. Cars, subway trains, pedestrians, and cyclists are moving across the bridge. Beneath the archway it can be dark, and although you're protected from the elements, it can feel cramped when there are a lot of people. There are sometimes food trucks, and there are places to eat nearby, so it's easy to make the flea market part of a longer walk through DUMBO. Is it the biggest flea market in New York? No. Does it compete with some of the larger markets? Probably not. But it doesn't really need to. It's a pleasant place to wander, browse, maybe find something, and maybe not. Fun fact: When the Manhattan Bridge opened in 1909, its 1,470-foot main span was the third-longest suspension-bridge span in the world. Pretty impressive to have that enormous bridge looming over a little flea market!Worth the trip.
MoreYou def have to go to dumbo for that picture opportunity the view is amazing and just iconic
MoreWe stayed at the Even hotel for a family wedding. The room was nice, small to us but big by NYC standards. We ate a fabulous breakfast everyday at the restaurant connected to the Holiday Inn, which was a 30 second walk down the street. The area is very walkable eg we ( 2 seventy year olds) took a leisurely walk to Dumbo and back, went to CVS for prescription. Took the subway to Manhattan and walked the High Line ( don’t miss this!!) , saw the Vessel and 911 memorial. The wedding was held at 501 Union, which I highly recommend for an event space. Can’t wait to go back!!
