The second largest open park in the Queens area in New York is the Alley Pond Park. This beautiful place is the perfect example of the city’s colonial past, it’s geological history and the efforts that the local government is putting in order to preserve and conserve natural phenomenon. The saltwater, freshwater, wetlands, meadows, tidal flats along with abundant bird life make it a great place to enjoy a day out in the sun with your family. An adventure course, a Rangers program, and a museum mark the entertainment factors in the park.

tripadvisorAlley Pond Park has something to offer for everyone. It has playgrounds for the kids, open fields for sports games, and walking trails for nature lovers. We loved that the trails are dog friendly.
MorePaved walking path with no biking signs, with benches, swans, geese, birds, crickets singing, weeping willows, all around greenery, abundant shade, refreshing sound of a brook and beautiful entrance stairs from 46th Avenue and from Springfield Blvd. in addition to the main entrances on 223rd St.
MoreAlley Pond Park - AP - is a large park with lots of trails. It is usually clean and a good place to take photographs. Lots of benches and room there. Always felt safe. Lots of families and kids as well as plenty of places to avoid them. We walk dogs there - picking up as we go - and it seems most people pick up too. BBQ spots, fields, Playgrounds... it is more like several parks connected. Great for bike riding.
MoreAfter 3 months of inactivity due to virus outbreak I returned to this park as I really love it. People are ruining it. Even as not allowed, bikers rush down the path, people play radio out loud, etc. There is no consideration for those of us who like to walk and enjoy its beauty. Hope someone in authority reads this and takes appropriate measures. OBEY THE RULES!!!!
MoreThe Alley Pond Park is an amazingly beautiful park with plenty of trees and huge grass fields which are great for being playgrounds. The trials are wide, flat and perfect for kids and elders. There are also lots of spots with benches and tables for picnic. The majority of facilities were closed recently due to the COVID-19 situation. One of the best things was the restrooms had been re-opened for visitors last weekend.
